Il terrore dell’ambivalenza
Roberto Salizzoni (Università di Torino)
Osip Mandel’štam’s 1934 poem, Stalin Epigram, describes the two levels of Stalinist terror: an everyday terror characterized by silence and whisper, and a political terror marked by annihilation and the carnivalesque derision of the «objective enemy» (Hannah Arendt). According to Félix Duque, the meaning of totalitarian terror, as well as of postmodern apocalypse, resides in an infinite deferral of the end.
Terror, Totalitarianism, Ambivalence, Carnival.
